ACCESS DENIED | COMMITMENT DAY 2026

ACCESS DENIED was an interactive technology challenge organized by the Computer Club, Shobhit Institute of Engineering & Technology, focused on digital accessibility and inclusive technology. The event was designed to help participants understand how digital technology can create barriers for people with different disabilities. Instead of simply discussing accessibility, participants were encouraged to experience simulated barriers themselves, identify the difficulties they encountered, and think about practical ways technology could be made more accessible. The challenges followed a simple yet meaningful approach: Experience → Identify → Think → Solve Participants worked individually or in teams of two through interactive, laptop- and phone-based activities. The focus was not on coding or technical expertise, but on observation, logical thinking, problem-solving, and understanding technology from another person’s perspective. 💡 Experience the barrier. Identify the problem. Design the solution. The event encouraged students to look beyond the question: “Does this technology work?” and instead ask: “Does this technology work for everyone?” Through this experience, participants gained a better understanding of digital accessibility, inclusive design, user experience, and practical problem-solving, while exploring how thoughtful technology can help create a more inclusive campus and digital environment. The initiative reflects the Computer Club’s continued effort to create meaningful, practical, and socially relevant technology experiences that encourage students to think beyond conventional solutions and design technology with everyone in mind.
