Peer-to-Peer Learning Program – Hidden Microbes: Unveiling the Bacterial World on Mobile Screens
The Peer-to-Peer Learning Program session titled “Hidden Microbes: Unveiling the Bacterial World on Mobile Screens” was an interdisciplinary learning initiative organized by the Computer Club, introducing students to the fascinating world of microbiology through practical laboratory-based learning.
The session focused on microbial culturing and staining techniques, providing participants with an understanding of fundamental laboratory methods used to observe, identify, and study microorganisms. It introduced students to the basics of microbial classification, bacterial identification, and the health implications associated with microorganisms.
Participants gained hands-on exposure to microbial culturing, staining techniques, and methods for observing bacterial growth and understanding microbial control. The practical nature of the session allowed students to move beyond theoretical knowledge and experience the laboratory processes involved in studying the microscopic world.
The session was conducted by Ms. Shrashti Mittal, Mr. Paras, and Ms. Ojasvi, who guided participants through the concepts and practical aspects of microbiological techniques. The learning experience was designed to be accessible to students with different levels of familiarity with microbiology while providing an opportunity to strengthen their practical laboratory skills.
Participants also received an e-certificate upon successful completion of the session, adding a valuable interdisciplinary learning experience to their academic portfolio.
Organized vibrantly by the Computer Club, the initiative demonstrated the club’s evolving commitment to multidisciplinary education and experiential learning. By extending its Peer-to-Peer Learning Program beyond core computer science topics, the Computer Club continues to encourage students to explore diverse domains, gain practical knowledge, and discover meaningful connections between technology, science, and real-world applications.
