Peer-to-Peer Learning Program: PHP and MySQL
Peer-to-Peer Learning Program – Session 1: PHP and MySQL
The Peer-to-Peer Learning Program – Session 1: PHP and MySQL was an interactive technical learning initiative organized by the Computer Club to promote collaborative learning and practical skill development among students.
The session introduced participants to the fundamentals of PHP and MySQL, two widely used technologies in backend web development and database management. The program was designed to provide students with a practical understanding of how server-side programming and databases work together to build functional web applications.
Participants explored PHP programming concepts and learned how to connect PHP applications with MySQL databases. A major focus of the session was developing a CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) application from scratch, allowing students to understand how data can be created, retrieved, updated, and deleted through a web-based application.
The peer-to-peer learning approach encouraged students to learn collaboratively, exchange knowledge, discuss technical concepts, and gain hands-on experience with real-world development practices. The session also helped participants strengthen their understanding of database connectivity and backend development while working toward a practical project that could be showcased in their portfolios and resumes.
The program included an e-certificate of completion and provided students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure beyond conventional classroom learning.
Organized vibrantly by the Computer Club, the initiative reflected the club’s commitment to fostering a culture of collaborative technical learning. Through peer-led sessions and practical projects, the Computer Club continues to empower students to learn emerging technologies, share their knowledge, build real-world skills, and grow together as a technical community.
